I'd never visited the castle in Kos before - it was well with it this time. Only €4 entry fee (at time of writing) and so worth it to walk around the castle walls with amazing views out to Turkey beyond, on a warm summer's...More

The title says it all. Admittedly we visited at the start of the tourist season, however that does not excuse the poor condition and lack of maintenence of the site. Zero facilities other than unattractive toilets. Visitors should be aware of safety risks from unprotected...More

Set at the harbour the castle built by the Templars the castle is a great treat for history buffs. Good value for all the family & full of artefacts. Wonderful view of harbour & town of Kos.

A nice walk offering some spectacular views of the city and twards Turkey & sea. Just for the stroll worth the visit. (beware with kids - steep drops not always guarded too well!!).

It is well worth the climb up to the ramparts for the view, there is little of the castle but when we visited the wild flowers were spectacularly beautiful and aromatic. Buy the multiple site ticket which lasts 3 days for good value.

We stayed just a short walk from Kos Town and found everyone very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Lambi and the shops outside the centre of the town were less busy and cheaper.

As others have already answered, it closes at 8pm. We arrived just before 7pm and it was lovely as there were only a few other visitors by that time and so it was really quiet and we could explore and take excellent photos... More
