After visiting the ruins of St. Pauls, this shopping area is adjacent to the shops infront of the ruins, where you will all pass by several churches which are still serving masses. Having it a shopping area, expect crowds of tourists and shoppers as well looking for bargains.

The place is nice and gives an impression about the history of Macau. However, coming from Europe we expected a bit more from the historic city.

Smaller and much more crowded than the typical promotional pictures show. Typical Portuguese paving and a nice but rather small fountain at the front. There seems to be little regulation as to signage, neon signage and hordings which rather spoil the tenor of the square. A good starting point for exploring the streets around.

Great for photos thats about it., Hardly much reliable needed shops in this square compared to other Landmark squares in the world just iconic buidings, people usually here to take photos around the square and pass through to see other sites, more retail outlets up through the along sidewalks to the Ruins etc

Macau is breathtaking. There isn't a lot to do in this particular square but walk around the streets and enjoy the unique combination of european colonial-style and asian-style architectures. So make sure you do that :-) It was very hard for us to navigate in this area, though. Make sure you bring a good map. A cellular plan would've helped... More

We were left by a local taxi, at some walk-able distance from square. That way we enjoyed walking through narrow streets with local food shops on either side of the road.We enjoyed that more than the historic monument.

Senado square is centrally located in the Macau part of Macau, meaning not in cotai or taipa, and has been a favorite hang out of mine. Large philipino community nearby, and the square itself is a tourist shopping area that leads right up to the Ruins of St.Paul and Monte Fort. Unless arriving by taxi, you will most likely be... This area is very good for sightseeing, there are many shops like Sasa, Koi Kei, Giordano etc. There is also tourist informastion center opposite "SASA" shop (near the road)

I was very much disappointed with all Macau casinos. Their machines are not very nice and they have almost no blackjack tables. However the city center is incredible, a mixture of asia, europe, modern, old, poor and rich. An experience not to miss. If you have to choose between the casinos and this, I would recommend this!
