Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waste of time and money coming here if you want a relaxing holiday. Ok if your a Muslim and like calling to pray. The bellowing from the mosques loud speakers never stop. 4.30 am it starts. Try Nusa Peneda or Lombogain.

I usually don't mind a mosque and their call to prayer...but here it seems to go on and on, whole sermons being broadcast, it's deafening noise... probably as a counter measure to all the equally noisy bars haha

So the tour is just like any other tour when you get taken out thrown in the water you snorkel for a little bit move on do it again. Total of 30 minutes snorkeling in the whole trip. Still nice to see the underwater world, only saw 2 turtles, and when you stop over at the island gilli Air they take you to a restaurant where I suggest You DO NOT EAT at. The food is really not of quality! Would not trust the hygiene of fish or meat. My partner and I looked at each other once we bit into the chicken! Something was not right! Didn’t taste right! Day after the tour he woke up vomiting! My noodles also tasted stale af!

A beautiful building to look at, but not a tourist attraction. We passed this on a walk around the island. It's a shame to hear all of the negative reviews on here because it's "too loud". One of the biggest religions in Indonesia is Islam and this is a place of worship for the local Muslim people here. People need to remember that if you are a visiting tourist then you should be respectful of the local culture, it is not an inconvenience to your holiday! The biggest noise problem is the loud music blasting from every single pub/bar/hotel on the Island all day long, not the call to prayer.

While it is a beautiful building and I quite like the sound of the call to prayer (when I'm not asleep), waking everyone on the island up at 5AM with such a loud noise is outrageous. Should not be allowed to happen.

Probably, the mosque is the oldest building in this island.it is affected by the last summer earthquake and still under construction some part of it, please help them by donating as much as you can while you are there. People are great, kind, hospitable, helpful and respectful. They deserve your help..

I found myself looking forward to the call to prayer while spending a few days in this island. Its amazing how the local Muslim population can reconcile everyday life surrounded by many young tourists in a party mode and still keep the faith intact in its beauty

The mosque has taken some damage from the earthquake back in August, but is up and running while they are rebuilding it. Women are allowed for prayers, though I think my wife was lucky to be allowed for jumaa prayer in a seperate area. Afterwards we realized that men usually occupy that area as well during salaat al jumaa.

Amplification and call to prayer are two elements that maybe shouldn't be combined! The minaret at Masjid dominates the skyline at Gili T and its height, combined with the amplifiers, makes this a loud presence from sunrise to sunset in most corners of the island. 5am calls anybody?
