A lovely little place, the square is surrounded by handicraft shops selling all kinds of clothes and ornaments. There is a little market not far away, where the locals were selling homemade food products such as honey, berries, juices and vegtables. Many small fountains spring up from the road surface at various heights and the children enjoyed running around them, not to close as to get wet. Each lamp post was decorated with large floral displays. Everything was perfectly tidy, no litter anywhere to be seen. Some restaurants can be found on the square as well as places to sit and have a coffee or beer or maybe something stronger. We sat and had a coffee spiced with Vaha Tallin Liqueur a lovely combination whilst watching the people walk by. The town hall is situated on the square which these days serves as a Tourist information centre which we found to be very helpful. We found the atmosphere of the square was friendly and welcoming and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Cozy place to explore - architecture, cafes, fountain. Worth to walk around and find something unexpected

Was nice to visit during the holiday season with a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations. Just very relaxing and antique-feeling. There's also plenty of restaurants there and a nice old church.

Kuresaare is a small city. Restaurants and shoping places are near to the main suqare. You canät miss this place, if you visit the town.

Strolling along main square in the middle of December is almost magical. Almost no people and just vast quietness. And then there was this huge Christmas tree...

Located in the centre of Kuressaare the square is a wide part of the road lined with attractive buildings many have which are now restaurants and bars. Worth a stop off on your wanders around the city.

Let's be honest, there's not much happening in the centre of Kuressaare, but what there is is centred around this square, which has some decent shops and places to eat and a few points of interest. It's also a nice place to just sit and watch the world go by.

You might want to have a coffee in a cafe on the square, or visit a shop, but the town square is best viewed while strolling through the village. It is not a destination in itself.
