Very long, clean sandy and pebbly beach good for sunbathing and swimming. Very sandy bottom 10 feet out from the shore. Sun beds reasonably priced and tavernas situated on the beach.

Well organized beach. A bit rockier than some but not a problem for walking into water as small smooth stones. Didn't feel crowded as long stretch of beach Town was quaint with lots of shops and tavernas

The beach is long and a mix of sand & shingle, it does go deeper quite close from the shore, plenty of sunbeds to chose and lots of space.

We took the free shuttle bus from our hotel to Skala beach and paid 10€ for 2 sun beds and an umbrella and the beds were very comfortable, there is a beach attendant who offers you menus for food and drink which you can order...More

The beach here is beautiful! The beach is filled with row after row of sun beds, each operated by different hotels. Don't get me wrong, this sort of thing would normally put me off. But the balance between the 'sun bed terraces', and bare beaches,...More

Skala beach is lovely. The sunbeds and umbrellas are very reasonable to hire. The water is crystal clear and great for a cooling swim.

The beach in Skala is a long large beach but it is a fine shingle beach. you have to pay for the sunbeds if you require one, between 5 and 8 euros per day

Head to the right and stop off at the sunbeds in front of the Sunrise restaurant, lovely place for lunch!

Skala beach is rustic and unspoilt. Sandy in places leading to the beautiful, clear sea where you can swim with the fishes. Just perfect! a bit pebbly in places, but it's a natural beach.

Lovely place. Staying in the Agelious studios. Very clean and airy and light and right on the beach and 5 minute walk form the town centre

Off to Skala on Sunday 18th September just been looking at weather reports for Kefalonia next week and they don't look too good. Has anyone been at this time of year?

Went in August - weather was overcast for a few days with some rain. Last time when we went in September the weather was fantastic throughout :)

I read in your review that Skala beach wasn't that family friendly, could you tell me the ones that in your opinion are? We're visiting in July with our three year old and one year old. Thanks in advance

Not hilly in my opinion just a the odd slope like the main street. All the hotels on the front (Poros road) are on the flat.
