The cable car is an attraction for those without fear of heights and claustrophobia. Going up a steep hill in a cable car of 3x1,5 meters together with 9 others was not my favorite memory of a otherwise great holiday. But I have to be...More

We had a fantastic trip taking this cable car up the mountain to Pigra. Very reasonable and it looks rather shaky at first but seemed well maintained. Very steep slopes up, but the ride is quite quick. Beautiful church at the top with amazing views....More

Beautifull trip and not expensive. Park near the church in Argegno. Small walk to the station. On the mountain walk straight ahead across the roundabout. Keep left and enjoy the old town. All is easy to walk and not so far. Easy for children. Fantastic...More

Cheap with and easy to read timetable, a free coffee machine at the bottom (not many people notice that) and Pigra is an interesting little town to walk around. Some nice walks from the village too and a pizzeria by the top station.

At Lake Como everybody goes to Bellagio, as if it were the most beautiful place in the world. So I chose to look for a less touristic destination for my day in the lake. We took the boat to Argegno, which takes an hour from...More

After reading the reviews, this cable-car trip to the summit town of Pigra was a must do. The trip to the top was relatively short. The views were quite good, but it was hazy so distances were a bit obscured. However, I thoroughly recommend this...More

If you want a great view of Como, then do go up on this cable-car above Argegno. Spectacular vistas, but Pigra itself is really not very interesting

Had to do this despite fear of heights. The view is magnificent, cost for four adults and two children was 25 Euros, not cheap, but once up the top the views are exceptional. Parking nearby will cost again but this part of Italy is costly!

I don't think you can book tickets in advance but I don't think there is any need to anyway. If it is busy they will run every 15 minutes instead of every 30. When we went last year, the cost was €4.50 for an adult return... More
