Beautiful baroque church with a marvelous octagonal triburio with lantern facing the lake ( the triburio is the architectural element that contains and preserves the dome )
The facade of the church is simple with several statues and the bronze bas-relief depicting the miracle of SS Pietà.
This church was built in 1575 after a miracle of 1522 when exactly in this point used to be the house of Tommaso Zaccheo where a picture depicting the Passion of Jesus began to lose blood and a small bone fallen from it.
The internal is decorated in marvelous baroque style, with many statues, bas-reliefs and frescoes

Site of miracles with a picture that bleeds and a miniature rib now housed in an adjacent church. Worth reading the story and exploring the highly decorated church. Peaceful time few mins from the lake shore.

Church with an austere exterior but lovely inside. Located on the main street running through the town it is well worth a visit. Cool on a hot day too.

This sanctuary has an interesting history and you should read it from the brochure (cost .5 euros) you can purchase at the church/sanctuary. The interior is very ornate but beautiful and is well worth the visit.

We visited the church on 2 occasions and were the only people there. A real oasis of tranquility. So nice to experience the beauty and peace of the church without a crowd. It has a beautiful, ornate interior even though the outside is rather plain. The story of the bleeding picture and sacred rib needs to be understood to fully appreciate the experience so do your homework before visiting.

Beautiful little church. Quite nice, especially when considering the church is in a small town, Cannobio, that is a little off the beaten track!

This was a very quite and peaceful chapel and lovely and cool in the very hot 39 degree weather. Lots of beautiful paintings all round the inside and dome.

We visited Chapel of Pieta having climbed a long flight of steps, but the climb was well worth while, A small chapel a church and outside stations of the cross were wonderful.

We enjoyed our visit to this beautiful Church. The exterior was fairly plain but the interior was beautiful & very ornate! Definitely a must see in Cannobio, Italy!
