I can only echo the comments made in the other five star reviews. Lovely gardens, and fascinating palace, especially the shell-lined rooms on lowest level. Worth adding that there are no restrictions on photography. Only negative is the café which was chaotic and disorganised. People...More

Ferry from Stressa. 16 euros each to go round palace and gardens. Worth it. Audio guide more of a hassle than a help as there is plenty of information within the palace to read

Definitely a place you pay a visit while being on Lago Maggiore. I recommend a triple-island tour from Stresa.

Make sure you leave yourself time to spend in the garden after the villa tour. A fantastic morning out but inside and out. If you want peace in the garden you will have to arrive early as this is a very popular attraction.

Those with Power and influence lived like royalty and quite often were! This personal retreat speaks to these attributes! The rich lived like kings quite often on the sweat of the backs of the peasants. Reachable only by boat, one might consider this a remote...More
