Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was very, very happy after I went out of the building. It is such a pleasure to enter a museum, so well maintained and knowing that it is constantly improved and museum employees try to gather new exhibits for the different sections.
Basically, the museum focuses on the history of the town, of course, with a bigger focus on the ancient history. There is a small art gallery with Pomorie-theme paintings as well as an ethnographic section. It is important to note that even I as a Bulgarian learned new facts about our culture, even though each ethnographic exhibition around the country is almost the same. Well..this one offered a few more interesting and some funny facts about Bulgarians of old.
My recommendation is definitely to pay few additional leva for a guided tour, which takes approx. 30-40 minutes depending on the number of your additional questions. Entrance fee is 2 leva, as far as I remember.

Walk to this, easy to get too, once you get there the building looks closed, but it's open. Inside you greeted with a lovely lady, the artifacts are astonishing, well worth a visit.

Interesting and inexpensive museum with various exhibits. Free WiFi and air conditioning with entrance fee family of six only costing £7. However, there were few English translations for exhibits.

The Musem of hisory in Pomorie is located not far from the Old houses. Museum is smaller and recently renovated, moderately air-conditioned and everything is very clean and neat. The ticket price is 3 lev for adults and for children 2 lev. Surrounding museum is a beautiful park with several exhibits. The setting is from the earliest period up to 20th century. We did not see a small art gallery with Pomorie theme paintings. All exhibits are explained in Bulgarian and English. Photographing is not forbidden.

The Museum is rather small, but still has 3 floors of expositions, each interesting in its own way. The first is all about artifacts from ancient history and extends to the medieval era: thracian, greek, roman, byzantine and bulgar history. The excavated materials are in fact rather interesting, from a large collection of ancient world coins, through pottery and metalwork to carvings, murals and even a fragmented floor mosaic. The biggest issue here is that most of the exposition is accompanied solely by bulgarian descriptions and information, one room has a short history of the area abd the excavactions in english, but it's less then a third of what you could learn if you spoke bulgarian. The second floor shows of mostly xixth and xx century paintings, which were okay i guess, but nothing breathtaking, and the final floor offers some world war weaponry and exhibitions on day to day life of bulgarians in the xixth and xxth century, eventually leading to an exhibition of state gifts recived by communist Bulgaria between 1950 and 1980, such as ceremonial robes from Mongolia and a shield from Ethiopia. Overall there is quite a bit to see, and it can certainly be interesting, but the lack of english descriptions is rather problematic and rmpoverishes your experience. Worth a look still.

gallery of old photos of pomorie are interesting but almost nothing is translated into english... poor light system and aged decoration makes the visit really dull!

Nice air-conditioned place. Ancient stuff of Pomorie history. Three small floors, so ideal length of visit. Unfortunatelly, there was too little of foreign descriptions.

A very small museum, due to the fact the building was a " burnt up secondary school ".
The museum has archeological interests ,back to the prehistoric ages.
Also a good collection of anchors and underwater archeological research.
