A must of Chanthaburi sightseeing, along with the Church's vicinity - gem street and interesting "bolane = traditional" architecture scattered along the river. Unfortunately my tablet's battery went out before my having taken enough photos of the town, which however makes me wanna go back...More
Nice looking catholic church, built more than hundred years ago by French missionaries. Supposedly the biggest of its kind all over Thailand. Didn’t go inside, since it was closed. Often used as main landmark of the city of Chanthaburi.
I was able to see the outside and it was gorgeous. I got there at 6pm Sunday but unfortunately it was close. There's a chapel on the side where I was able to say my thanks to God. Definitely a must see.
The church is an architectural wonder and the grandeur of its construction and interior mesmerizes any visitor. Take note of the beautiful state inside, made of solid silver and covered with 20,000 sapphires, and no, that's not for sale. Take lots of photos.
