Lovely area of natural beauty convenient for Glasgow. Good for walking and admiring flora and fauna. Some interesting craft sales at the old "castle". There's a garden centre there as well; not huge, but interesting nonetheless. Excellent cafe / restaurant with good food. cheery staff, and prices not outrageous.

A family and pet friendly park, with nice paths for leisurely strolls and the remains fo 2 historical buildings - the Mugdock castle and a family manor (which also used to host a zoo !!) that is now in ruins (and fenced - still beautiful to look at). Worth a visit !!

There is plenty of parking and an overflow field too. The shops and cafes at Craigend Visitors Centre and excellent. Locally made gifts and cards and food available at 3 eateries at various prices.
There are playparks for younger and older children; plenty of walks; a garden centre and fantastic views over Glasgow.

If you like the following then this is the place for you:

• Castles
• World war 2 gun sites
• Highland cattle
• Lochs
• Beautiful scenery

This place really has it all to explore & is only 10 miles outside Glasgow. Great cafes on site & lovely shop selling handmade crafts & art. Lots of picnic tables with if bring food with you & very dog friendly for those who have dogs. A must visit.

Beautiful park, really lovely walks, cafe etc. Spoiled by inconsiderate dog walkers. Not all of them as many individuals were respectful of other, however the professional DW lady we passed had around 12 dogs, none on leads and little control with her head in her phone!

Love Mugdock however the coffee in the cafe is served in polystyrene cups and is revolting most likely because of this.....pity.

Impressed with the big playground and the climbing equipment. Also loos, an arts & craft shop, and ice cream. Free car parking. Good place for a family day out.

Me and my mum decided to go here on Monday 19th July 2021, the castle is a must see and so is the wooded walk. It has some beautiful trees and flowers and you can see the Campsie hills from the entrance.

However it isn't sign posted well and its very steep. The nature walks aren't accessible. There's not enough disabled parking and not enough bins. All the bins we passed were overflowing.

The cafe offered us free water for our water bottles and said if we needed more just to go back.

The ice cream was really good. I love whippy but a bit expensive for a 99.

Large country park with lots of walks and a few activities . However , we were not able to do the scavenger hunt ( due to COVID)which the kids were looking forward to doing . Nor were any rangers doing guided tours for children which was disappointing. There are a few play areas and our kids liked the assault / adventure one as they are older . Cafe is adequate but a little expensive. Lovely garden centre but again very expensive.

Was up early one Sunday morning and the weather was nice, so headed along to Mugdock Country Park.

Car park was rather busy for 11am on a Sunday, so was lucky to get a space.

Just started walking, and seemed to go on for ages (almost like I was doing the West Highland Way, which goes through part of the park) and while not many maps, you can just keep walking and will eventually find yourself at the castle, and beyond that find yourself at the visitor centre.

Did not set out how long I planned to stay here, but after 4 hours of walking thought I was maybe best to head home.

Nice little visitor centre and play park for the kids.

All in all I think this will be my new "go to" place to go for walks in future.
