About
The bridge made by the Riga company Felser & Co in 1879 was erected amid the castle hills in Viljandi in 1931. It was a present by the lord of the Tarvastu Manor Karl von Mensenkampf.Interesting to know:*The bridge is over 50 m long.* It was erected over a valley which is 15 m deep.* At first, the bridge was located over the moat in Tarvastu to make it easier for the family of the lord to visit the chapel in the ruins. The rope bridge has become a favourite object of both citizens and visitors of Viljandi and one of the town’s important symbols. It was reconstructed in 1995.

It is a no-brainer. You like it or not, this seems a must to-do if you go in Viljandi. It's a suspended bridge ...

Nice and interesting bridge, I enjoyed it. Little bit unusual for such area -- right next to old ruins --but it's OK.

It's just a bridge, nothing else. You can go there at the same time when you visit the castle ruins, take a few pics but there's really not much to see.

Rope Bridge joins part of the town to the castle ruins, it goes over the remains of the castles moat. Nicely painted and fun to walk over.

Cute little bridge to observe nature and swing a little, if that is your thing. Nothing interesting on the other side, the bridge itself is fun for a quick stop

It shakes but safe, interesting. Kids will like it. Right next to the historic ruin of the Viljandi.

These bridges are always fun as they move slightly when people are walking on the structure. We were told the history of the bridge by our excellent guide on the Tallin toRiga minibus tour.

I had seen many rope bridges, love them. This one has a special unusual location. Views are great, bridge itself is petty stable.

If you are going to take a walk in the ancient castle ruins of viljandi you must walk across the beautiful rope bridge. It will give a little tingle of risk as you feel it moving when crossing. Great spot for photos.
