There are few so beautifull gardens on the world. If you can to Elche, you cannot miss this treasure.

I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), all sightseeing has to be well-researched and not overly taxing; I wear a legbrace. A short walk from the centre, the Huerto del Cura (The Priest's Garden), declared a National Artistic Garden, is like an oasis in the middle of built-up spaces and buildings. Serene ponds and fountains, I liked the Bust of Dame de... More

On a day visit to Elche which we thoroughly enjoyed visiting, we ended up at these gardens. Delightful surprise, very well kept area, lots and lots of plants and palm trees and a famous 7 branch palm tree. It is not an enormous garden but big enough, we are not garden experts so we didn't look at the name of... More

THe priests palm and cactus garden is nice enough, and very well kept, but perhaps best for someone's who really wants to see the labels on different kinds of trees. I had walked all over the city with my map to find this and before I even got inside, I fell foul of the furious man in the ticket booth.... More

This garden highlights the treasure that the Palmeral is to Europe and Elche. It is a fine botanical garden, but an exceptional exhibit of a grand palmier, and it includes an excellent cactii collection.

Interesting to a point, but ultimately this garden has little to offer to those who don't value date palms.

Beautiful gardens with a staggering amount of curiously grown palm trees, its name is the Curates garden so a lot of religious connections but it makes it interesting. Whilst on the tour you probably won't notice that a video is being made, at the end of the tour you go to a cinema room and watch a video, little knowing... More

this a fascinating gardens which in the heat of the summer was cool and refreshing. With the machines available you could hear in your own language the history of the various plants and palms, how they either arrived at its name or postilion within the gardens.
