We had a day and night visit here and was a nice place to experience. During the day, people go about their business washing veg in the river, cooking etc. While tourists grab a snack from a street vendor or even a KFC (yes there's one there!) Take a boat up the river to see the old bridges up close,... More

We love the ancient town of Fenghuang so much so that we moved here to live. The town grows more beautiful year by year as the river walkways and the bridges are built. The architecture is lovely to the eyes as well as the ambiance of wandering through the many small streets and alleyways near the river. Meander along the... More

This ancient town is fascinating with its ancient wooden houses built on stilts along the banks of the Tuo Jiang River. It also has what it seems like ‘centuries’-old bridges over the water. There is also a beautiful pagoda seated by the side of the river bank. We took the river cruise to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds -... More

Very beautiful ancient little town. Fenhuang is about ancient building, row upon row of stack old houses. There is Tuo river in the middle n beautiful bridges over it. It is even more beautiful at night when all lights on.

Quaint by day, flashy and pretty at night. The pubs, cafes, restaurants by the river have interesting names and quaint decor. Try to stay the night nearby so you can explore both sides of the town. They are different during the day and night. Cross the river by walking across the stones. Nice! Take the tuojiang boat ride. It's a... More

This is not a town orientated to westerners. It is a domestic tourism destination and rightly so. It is full of character and charm and well worth a day or two. Stay in one of the many modest budget Inns and experience the town at night too. A must see destination.

Beautiful and culturally rich. Serene and romantic in the morning, many historical sites to see. Beautiful at night. Thank you to China Highlights for organising our tour, and to Wendy, our amazing tour guide.

In the evening the whole place becomes illuminated. Red Chinese lanterns are dotted on balconies. Music blares from bars, and just below our balcony. And remember to bring your camera gear
