An amazing shrine where people roll after making a wish
Dec 2018 • Solo
This is one of the most extraordinary phenomenons I ever saw. Near the shrine, on a totally flat ground, people make a wish, cover their eyes, and can't stop rolling until hitting the wall if the answer to the wish is positive. I tried it myself and could'nt stop rolling. Truly amazing!

The tree on the tomb is a pistachio tree and there is another tombs of others beside it.
Free to visit and you should take of your shoes around the tomb.
But the building is not so clean and shiny.

Must see to believe

This place is small shrine/temple/mosque kind of in the middle of nowhere but easy to get to as it is famous and well known amongst the locals. It is most famous for making a wish. People go here dressed modestly of course. Women with abayas or black chadars and head scarf, men with long pants and shirts. At the door people take their shoes off and carry them in a bag with them. Upon entrance there is a giants tree with a tombstone underneath. Then a few steps down to a dusty type of a backyard surrounded by short walls. People sit with legs straight ask a question or make a wish do a prayer cover their faces with the palms of their hands and lay down and try to roll on the ground. The ground is completely flat not steep in any direction. The person tries to roll himself once and they either start rolling super fast and someone stands in their way and tries to stop them or they cant roll even once. People believe that if the answer that they seek if its a yes the ground will roll them and if the answer is no it wont roll them no matter how hard they try to roll themselves they cant roll more than once. Seeing this live as so many people performed this was amazing. No one knows each other. No one says what they ask or wish for but to see some people try so hard and they cant roll while another person with one roll cant stop rolling unless another stops them. It is one of those unexplained phenomenons that one has to experience or at least see close up. If you want your mind blown definetly visit this sight.

Unique Shrine
Nov 2015 • Solo
Unique shrine in Herat. Worshippers come here hoping for a blessing - if a force rolls them whilst they pray they are believed to be blessed. As a result, it's quite normal to see people rolling across the gravel in prayer with the hands over their eyes.
