We arrived just in the nick of time to get onto the next tour, after purchasing our tickets we drove up to the carpark closer to the cave entrance (about 5 minutes) and from there a short walk up to the cave entrance. Our guide Simon was very knowledgeable and the passion he had for his job and the caves... More

That old saying 'it's not the destination, it's the journey' is most relevant when you visit the caves. The drive there, the sceanery is a pure delight. And the caves... well you stop at the tourist gift shop building and buy your tickets, drive 5 minutes on a dirt road to the start of a forest and take a leisurely... More

A group of 15 of us drove to the Hastings Caves State Reserve to tour the caves and try out the thermal pool. We had a great guide, Simon, who was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the beauty of the caves. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Plenty of stalagmites and stalactites at every turn. The thermal springs is... More

The cave tour was amazing. Quite a few steps to get to the start of the cave and heaps of steps once inside. But with the frequent stops through the tour, the stairs were quite manageable. Saw some lovely formations and the guide was very good.

The cave tour was so worth it and something really special to experience. People of all ages really got into it. We brought our swimmers to do the thermal springs - but using warmish water to fill a square cement pond painted blue and filled with screaming kids was not our thing. We did the cave tour and Tahune Airwalk... More

What makes this place worth a visit is the combo of caves and pool. The caves have one of the largest amounts of stalagmites I've witnessed - very fairytale like and beautiful with the chance to walk over and touch natural flowstone. After rambling through the darkness of the cave, it's fun to lay back in the sunshine in the... More

It's the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I can't believe some Fossils are over 100 thousand years old... Its so unique and a must see for everyone. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would go again for sure.

We travelled out here to partake of the thermal springs only. We were advised at the ticket office that the springs were thermally heated, had a lining installed to stop mud oozing up, were generally constant 24/26 degree's. What a disappointment, it is just another fully lined swimming pool overflowing with kids. The temperature was not hot or even warmish,... More

Went to the thermal springs expecting a nice romantic bubbling rock pool surrounded by trees, you know, a thermal spring? Boy were we wrong. It was quite simply a pool; no rocks, no bubbles, very little warmth, and stacks of kids jumping into this waist high pool. The only slight similarity is the fact you have to drive through the... After over a decade of living in Hobart we eventually made the effort (not that great) of going to Hastings. Well worth the effort. Amazing caves shown to us by a knowledgeable, entertaining guide. Nice dip in the springs on the way out. They're a little underwhelming but still nice. All in all well worth the effort and very wallet... More
