Amazing North Sikkim 2 Nights 3 Days

North-Sikkim is the best destination for those who are looking for a natural gateway to spend a few days amidst the pure nature away from the crowded city life. The weather of the North Sikkim is usually frosty cold in the winter season and pleasantly cold during the summer season. The Khangchendzonga National Park and the Shingba Wildlife Sanctuary are the major wildlife attractions in the North Sikkim. The Red Panda which is the state animal of the Sikkim is a native animal of the North region. It is the State Animal of Sikkim. The region is the heaven on Earth for the trekkers and adventure seekers with the hypnotic beauty of raw mountains, valleys, and forests. Most tourist places of the North Sikkim are restricted to the Indian citizens only due to the proximity of the India-China border and required permits to visit here.

Plz call before booking your tour. Almost all monestry and a lot of things are closed in gangtok. Zoo being one of them. Avoid this if closed. Total waste of time. Ganesh tuk and zoo are opposite each other.

In the mist of Mountains there lies a Zoo in the heart of the forest a wounder full location for a Zoo........... Himalayan Zoological Park is certainly a place for wildlife lovers in Gangtok, Sikkim. Amazing experience with a variety of animals like Snow leaopard, Red Panda, Blue Sheep, Yak, Himalayan Thar ,leopard cat and, Black bear many more . One can visit this place with children also. if you are in Gangtok do not miss Himalayan Zoological Park. Better take a snack there as no proper canteen inside. one has to walk a lot in the zoo.... The entrance fee is reasonable... better take your camera.... it take around 1-2 hours to cover the entire zoo I like the concept of landscape and exhibit design as well as pathways to reach different exhibits. Management should invest in animal care and designing the exhibit. No zoo staff to interact. No proper signboards, and animal info. No proper conservation and education activities. The place has much potential to establish itself in ecotourism and wildlife conservation canvas. Proper management, planning, developing human resources and adequate funding will help this zoo to grow and spread the wildlife conservation and education values. The best time to visit the area is from mid--February to May and Mid-September to December

I like the concept of landscape and exhibit design as well as pathways to reach different exhibits. You can feel real forest habitat around you with full of oxygen. Management should invest in animal care and designing the exhibit. Very less enrichment available for animals. No zoo staff to interact. No proper sign boards, and animal info. No proper conservation and education activities. Place have much potential to establish itself in ecotourism and wildlife conservation canvas. Proper management, planning, developing human resources and adequate funding will help this zoo to grow and spread the wildlife conservation and education values.
