We went for the overnight hike to summit the mountain. The plant life and views were stunning! You can actually see the difference in fauna and flora as you cross different areas of the mountain. What you need for an overnight hike: - A guide person (very important) - camping equipment - mosquito repellent At the camp site there is... More

We arrived with only about 3 hrs to hike. The park ranger was very helpful explaining the trails and difficulty level. The hike followed a river and a stream. I was enthralled with the views, topography and birds. I would love to come again and camp, hiking to the summit. Maybe next time.

We went with a guide on the 4 hour hike. It was beautiful! It was also a good work out! Would recommend taking a guide if you are not familiar with the hike.

The park is beautiful and features trails of varying lengths - anything from a few hours to a few days to summit. Taking a tuk-tuk from the center of town is fairly easy, but they will drop you off only at the driveway to the actual park. It can be quite a hike to get to the welcome center!

Great park near to Gracias to come for a walk. There are a number of trails - ranging from an hour in length to an overnight one to the summit of the hill. We just did the middle walk up to the waterfall viewpoint which was about 3.5 hours and very enjoyable. It was fairly uphill but a good temperature... More

Really nice hike. Good trail and nice views. The trail is pretty well marked. I did it with a guide but you could do it without as well.

The information you get from the people working there is not great, but if you have time to get lost through the park it's definitely worth the visit. You have to be in shape to go on the steep hike but there are plenty of options.

Absolutely beautiful. We only stayed for 2 hours and didn't hike too far, but it a beautiful place at every turn. Trail markings are a bit confusing, but the scenery was breath taking. Saw no other people for 2 hrs. The river had several nice bridges and waterfalls at every turn. Highly recommend this park. Trails quite wet and rugged.

This park was nice enough. I did the Gallo trek which is listed as 5-6 hours and medium to hard. Wrong! I am en experienced hiker and did the route relatively quickly. It took me 5 hours and 55 minutes. Normally I shatter the times listed...this time on only just made the slowest time! Allow 6-7 hours for sure. It... More
