There are better beaches close by

The beach was rather dirty and there as car/trailer traffic up and down. Do yourself a favor and drive to limni Keri or Zakynthos Town to visit the beach.

As with Kalamaki beach Laganas has much to commend it good sands, clear crystal waters, beautiful views and long stretches that could be a challenge to the most ardent joggers. The problem like Kalamaki is that is very appeal is it's problem. Adjoining hotels, villas, apartments and eateries makes for a lot of the associated problems that need little comment... More

Lovely place with great views and the chance to go on a boat trip to potentially see turtles. We didn't see any whilst there but the day out was still great on the whole. Our boyfriends spent most of the time at the island snorkelling in the lovely clear blue water whilst us girls enjoyed the views and sunbathed on... More

Due to many of the beachfront businesses that seem to crop up there, there's not really much of a beach to enjoy. By all means there are plenty of places to sit and have cocktails by the sea, but not much else. Because of those restaurants and clubs on the beach, the sunbeds are really close to the shoreline so... More

Good for the young and lively because of all the bars etc, and also good for families as the sea is warm and safe and the beach isn't too deep so you can keep an eye on your kids playing in the sea without them being miles away from you. Good restaurants. Little shops for buckets, spades, drinks etc. Also... More

If you are looking for a quiet beach, do not go there. The music is loud, the people on the beach are very loud, and if you have kids, go to Kalamaki instead. The sand is like concrete and there are so many sunbeds, they go almost into the sea. I stayed there for 30 minutes and left. Its a... More

The sea was not so clear here, but we tried other beaches, too. :) Our favourite was Banana beach. It is beautiful!

Went over to the little island to find we had to pay 5 euros each to get on to the island. It does come with a drink, but you only have a selection of two alcoholic drinks and then juice in a carton. If you wanted any other drinks an extra 2 euros needed to be paid. Beautiful panorama views... More

Can walk from Ageas Sostis to Kalamaki apart from one small stretch between Ageas Sostis and Laganos where have to wade around rocks or take the road. Also may have to fend off a few touts in Laganos. take a fly swat! - apart from this there are miles of wonderful sandy beach to explore! There are good refreshment establishments... More
