Went on the trip out to Tasman Glacier 2 weeks ago. If you have ever been to Alaska, you will find this trip around the lake and over to Tasman Glacier quite disappointing. Very few, small icebergs, size of the glacier is also rather modest next to the gigantic and majestic size of many glaciers that you can visit in... More

We enjoyed the Glacier Explorer tour with Brett and his team. The walk from the coach to the Glacier and boat jetty was a reasonably comfortable walk, with only two small areas of the pathway with larger (say 4cm size) rocks before reverting to relatively small gravel. The cruise on the Glacier was pleasant and informative and we were able... More

Had a fabulous time going out on the boat with Shaun, our knowledgable and very humorous guide. We learned so much about ice bergs and glaciers. It was amazing to see the beauty and get first hand knowledge of the ice. We had a remarkable time.

Our Nee Zealand Self Drive package included this as an activity. Several hours of fun and education. You go in a boat and up close to a glacier that is melting at a surprising rate. Boat driver was very informative, yet shy about his driving skills. Fun for kids and adults alike.

One of the recommended activities at Mt. Cook. Contrary to the pictures in the brochures, we didn't see such big and large number of floating ice bergs. However, the views were awesome. Its a short bus ride from the Hermitage Hotel followed by a 30 min walk on a gravel path to the jetty. There are small speed boats in... More

Beofre going on this we received detailed instructions about safety. The company who run the trips are very keen to exclude their liability for absolutely everything which might go wrong and get customers to sign a form to that effect. This did cause concern in our group as to whether this was going to be a dangerous experience. However, in... More

What an amazing trip. We were picked up from The Hermitage Hotel and after a short but informative coach ride (thank you Emily and Sean) we reached the gravel track we needed to walk to get to the Tasman Jetty. Sean was very explicit before the coach left the hotel that mobility issues could be a problem on the walk... More

Up close and personal to icebergs made for some awesome photos. Tour guide Tamika was fun and very informative. Could tell she loves her job which of course makes our experience much better. Thank you

The glacier is not what you expect, we had to stay kind of far away from the Tasman glacier due to safety issues. But still a cool experience, got to touch and taste some of the closer pieces that were floating around the small lake. Such a unique experience and our tour guide (light haired girl, can't remember her name)... More

The tour was great. I did see some bad reviews about kids etc. But they do explain that there is a walk to the boat around 20-25mins. And if you cant keep up with the group you waste other peoples boat time. The walk wasnt as bad as i thought. The bus ride there was good. The boat guy was... More
