Beautiful! Worth the visit!
Dec 2019 • Family
We enjoyed the day trip here. Ice cold water, but your body adjusts quickly. Great short hike and scenery. The hike is short, but still a little strenuous. 👍🏼 so many varieties of butterflies. Little lizards are hidden in the leaves if you look hard for them. Beautiful day and great amenities too. Changing rooms at the top by waterfall. A+. Bonus perk, our tour bus pulled over to take pictures at the sign for the falls and we saw several varieties of monkeys 🐒❤️

Visit during the week
Oct 2019 • Family
We went on a Saturday and it was really crowded. Weren’t able to fully enjoy the waterfalls because of it. It’s very easy to walk to as others have mentioned but that also means more people, especially on the weekends.we still had a great time and saw some beautiful butterflies and tiny frogs.

Nice but crowded
Jun 2019 • Family
It’s a nice waterfall with easy access, you need to go up but there are stairs. There are changing rooms by the waterfall so you can enjoy the “pool” and then change. It’s a nice place but a very common touristic attraction therefore gets overcrowded. It is recommended to go early before everyone else is there.

Las Cataratas de Ahuashiyacu - Worth a Visit
Dec 2018 • Solo
Its a nice waterfall. The amount of people varies and that will make or break you experience.
It start at the top o the mountain, and your actual seeing the second tier of the waterfall.
Lots of people come, so it's not something that's going to "connect" you with nature.
None the less, a good waterfall to see.

Local gem
Oct 2018 • Business
The beautiful thing about Tarapoto is it’s waterfalls. Locals and tourists alike come here to cool off and relax. The swimming area can get busy but it’s a great place to spend a few hours! I came here a few times both with my wife and later with colleagues.

A beautiful waterfall
Jul 2018 • Friends
A beautiful waterfall in amazing nature at the edges of the Cordillera Azul national Park. Less than 30 minutes by car or bus from Tarapoto, am opportunity to swim by a spectacular waterfall. A small entrance fee is definitely worth it.

Spectacular

Fresh cold water in one of the greatest attractions and distractions in Tarapoto. We always come here when visiting. About 20 minutes in car from central Tarapoto, then walking 5 minutes after paying the entrance.

Beautiful little hike
Jul 2018 • Family
Only 10-20 minute hike, so great with kids. Very pretty and well marked, with railings, bridges and such. A cute little cafe that we ate filled plantains and cocona juice at was also neat. The falls had a lot of people, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the beauty. You can get in and swim, but we didn't do that. Looks like they are expanding the area around which you can stand/sit/hang out.

A tourist trap
Jul 2018 • Solo
Beautiful little site but it just a tourist trap these days, no one tell you that you have to pay for some little falls... the site is clean but not much to see and so small that it get crowded very fast !
If you like to hike don’t bother with that 3 mins walk and find something else to do.

Beautiful trek through the jungle to a spectacular waterfall
Aug 2017 • Friends
Not far from the city of Tarapoto. After a walk through the jungle, you arrive at the tall and beautiful falls. There is a nice lagoon to swim in, and the water is very cold! It's a nice break from the heat! The water is super deep right under the waterfall, so you can jump from some of the ledges above.
