This is a nice museum to give you a fell for Francis and the area. It includes the Basilica. I enjoyed the nativity scenes.

Impressive basilica!
Feb 2020
While a mess was ongoing we could stroll through most of the basilica. Impressive building, including the contrasts between the very sober central part and the more decorated side parts. Not to be missed - and please go to the rose garden and chapel!

Excellent museum
Nov 2019 • Solo
I was very impressed with this museum. The displays and the brochure were well done. It helped me understand the area of the Porziuncola as it was inhabited by the friars.

PORZIUNCOLA MUSEUM
Mar 2019 • Couples
Located within the Basilica complex, this museum is also necessary stop along the pilgrimage route of St. Francis. Inside the museum are works of sacred art that chronicle the life and history of the Franciscan order; a 1236 crucifix, the Madonna del Latte (Lady of the Milk) from the 1300’s and many other items. A small fee to enter.

Holy and beautiful place
May 2019 • Friends
Inside is a small chapel where St. Francis consecrated St. Clare. It is a beautiful and peaceful little church. This was very special to me to see. I wish I would have had more time to just sit and pray but there were a lot of people waiting to get in.

A Quiet Surprise
May 2019 • Business
This little museum should not be missed (yet often is) by the hundreds of tourists that visit the Porziuncola. If you are a pilgrim, find it, and dive deeper into the profound life of St. Francis.
