Small beach and paid
Jun 2020 • Couples
It is a very small beach with limited area and you have to pay for a spot. Not worth to pay.
There is a camping sight nearby.

Nice (for a lake)
Sep 2018 • Friends
We went to this beach to feel the real lake atmosphere, not the one from the swimming pool. The beach is small but nice, just a few minutes from the center, with sandy shore and a green park. It is a lovely area to spend some time at the lake or even have a swim.

Something different to do
Aug 2018 • Family
We came to this beach for a few hours as a change to swimming in the pool. Lots of parking at €1 per hour. We used 2 sunbeds with a parasol but didn’t get charged. The water doesn’t get very deep even 5-10 metres in. Felt safe for older kids however you have to wade through a stony then muddy section before getting to the firmer sand which could be tricky for little ones. There is lots to do such as hiring a pedalo, canoe, SUP board or paying to use a swimming pool but can’t comment further as didn’t use. Short walk into the town for choice of restaurants and icecream stores. Novelty for us was the cold water dispenser (still or sparkling) in the carpark where you pay 5 cents to fill your 1.5 litre bottle with filtered fresh water!

Quiet, good with small children
Aug 2018 • Family
We spent a day here and loved it. Quiet but offers everything you need. Boat or pedalo and sup rentals, shower, sunbed, pool. Only “negative” is that pool is for extra and the plants in water stick.

Small, but fine beach
Jul 2018 • Couples
The beach here is small but fine. Busy, but not overcrowded. Relaxed atmosphere. Some reviews are rather negative about the water of the lake, which is not entirely deserved. Although there are some rocks, mud, and water plants on the bottom of the lake, which make the entry into the water somewhat difficult, the water is not dirty or muddy (although not entirely clear either) and it does not smell. For sure Italy has better beaches, but if you are around Lake Trasimeno, this one is not a bad choice.

A gem of a find!
Jun 2018 • Family
A small, quiet, clean secluded beach just five minutes walk from the centre of town. There is a lovely sandy beach and adjacent green park. If you want to just hang out in the green park o4 play volley ball or paddle or swim in the lake then everything is free. Or you can hire an umbrella and seats or take out a pedalò then you can at a very reasonable cost. A great bar serving drinks, ice cream and really good snacks and lunches at very reasonable prices. There is an adjacent car park which is free if you get there early enough or €1 an hour if not! SO lovely!

Exceeded my expectations
Jun 2018 • Couples
This is a small lake beach so I expected the water to be cloudy as you walk in and some places to be a bit muddy on the base of the lake and that's about right. The water is beautifully clean though and the lake is full of fish. There are a lot of things about Sualzo Beach which exceeded my expectations. In early June it wasn't that busy, there is a helpful snack bar behind the beach which produces nice food without a stupid price tag. A salad and a "posh" burger with two beers came to 20 Euros.

Toilets and changing facilities are provided but be warned the toilet are the "basic" squat type and can get a bit fruity. Beds and a brolly are an ok 15 Euros for the day and it's all in pretty good nick.

Canoes and pedalos are for hire. On a windless day you do get a lot of small flies and aphids but they're not a massive nuisance. On more windy days they don't bother you. The views are beautiful, lots of wild birds including herons. It makes a nice day trip from Perugia and it's easy to get there on the train which takes about 30 minutes. Check the times before going (and your planned return time) as the trains are only every 1-2 hours on a week day and 2 hours on a weekend. The beach is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Not all of Passignano is beautiful, especially along the front at the start and end of the walk (the odd decaying building including a former Italian Air Force building right next to the station and dredgers parked up on the lake at the harbour) but it has a certain charm and once you're at the beach it's pretty beautiful.

Word to the wise though, if you think Italian public loos at the beach are dubious, give the one at Passignano Station a pass. It doesn't just smell like someone died in there, it looks like the set to a Swedish crime drama.

Small nice beach
Oct 2017 • Friends
It offers various water sports, also a small pool and umbrellas with chairs for sun bathing. Nothing very special except the nice views over the lake.

A pleasant surprise
Aug 2017 • Family
When I first arrived at Sualzo beach, I was very pleasantly surprised. There is a narrow strip of sand with sun loungers to rent. The lake at first appeared to look quite dirty but once I got into it, i realised it was like a warm bath! There are some spiky plants by the shore, but once you go further into the water it is quite a magical experience. The view of the surrounding mountains, the warm, still water was lovely. There were many people swimming including generations of families (grandparents, parents and kids.) There is also a beach bar for refreshments and a swimming pool which costs 3 euros per child and 5 euros per adult. There was a small playground also. My three children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as did I.
