An aewsome place to learn some astrology and astronomy. Even for musicians the bonus is the acoustics. The film show is a must before seeing the Stonehenge.

Thanks for encouraging visitors to watch the 8-minute film first. It really does add to the experience. We had a singer down at the henge yesterday who was just inspired to break into song while on a self-guided tour. Those fellow trekkies that happened to be there at the same time were ecstatic about the effect. We encourage people to... More

Thanks for your review. We appreciate it. If you are interested in seeing the henge at sunrise or sunset, our on line booking system allows you to book in to private sunrise or sunset tours but they need to be booked 5 days in advance and the minimum charge applies. You could also come to solstice and equinox events which... More

We came across this by accident, so thought we would have a look. The audio guide at the beginning was very helpful to explain it all, and we caught the end of a guided tour and found it all very fascinating. We purchased the New Zealand almanac calendar which has a lot of relevant information on it. Like others have... More

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review. I am glad you had a taste of the guided tour, many people do the self-guided tour and it is the quicker option but Richard is so good at the tours and so fascinating that it is a pity to miss the tour. Thank you for your comment regarding the... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate your enthusiasm and the fact that you took the time to write this. I love meeting all the people who come here and hearing their stories. Richard also loves talking to people, he is a natural teacher in the best sort of way and loves telling the... More

The tour includes fascinating information about the stars, early human history including engineering projects from 10,000 years ago, navigation, mythology. I don't think I've ever learnt so much in one day. I arrived wondering why anybody would build a tourist attraction so far away from any town or city. it certainly makes a great day out for tourists but that... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It is much appreciated. We love learning and I think it shows. Certainly, Richard seems to inspire people with the love of learning and I think a great respect for their ancestors. Again, we love having you here and thanks for coming. More

My map pointed out this attraction, so I thought I would go along. I had assumed it was a bit of a laugh and a novelty, and thought it would be amusing to go seeing as I haven't been to Stonehenge in my own country! I was at first a little taken aback by the $10 entry fee, but once... More

Thanks for you response and also the comments, we will try to improve in the areas you suggest. There are only two of us so sometimes visitors do mess up before we get a chance to check. Thank you for letting us know, as we fixed the problem straight away. The spare toilet paper, which was there, is now more... More

Spontaneous visit whilst over in the Wairarapa. Very interesting and informative and well worth the entry price of $10 per person. Would be great on a really hot and sunny day and a great place to just sit and soak up the magnificent views.

Many people enjoy the self-guided tour and then come back to the guided tour. It is a lovely place to be just to enjoy the view and the quiet. There is always some shade in a circle and it's fun to watch visitors playing with the sound effects of the henge. People always seem to come back looking relaxed. More

Wasn't impressed with the $10 per person self guided tour. We declined as we didn't find it all that interesting. I have been to the original Stonehenge in Britain, which was fascinating. Paying to see some prefab concrete blocks stacked together doesn't cut it.

I am sorry that you did not take the time to watch the Audio Visual and go down to the henge. You missed out on an experience that most people really appreciate. Our henge is not a copy of Stonehenge in England. It is a working astronomical henge and you would have learnt many interesting things about your own ancestors... More
