Love be Henley Lake!!! It's dog friendly , an easy walk- with quite a few options. We prefer to go round wetlands as there is less duck poo, on the other hand we like the exercise that u can do when going round Henley Lake- taking a wee deviation- its fun for the whole family... and the dogs!!!

This is yet another great place to visit in Masterton with good walking and cycling paths - and plenty of places to picnic with easily accessible parking.

Henley Lake is a beautiful place to spend some time. There are many different kinds of bird life sharing the lake and all roaming free. When I visited there were many new ducklings and cygnets. There are picnic tables to eat at - which is good because the birds do leave a lot of droppings behind them! There are a... More

Henley Lake is a beautiful lake with walking and running tracks, as well as other features like a round, man-made hill that can be used as a stage or amphitheatre. I wish I'd know about it earlier but I didn't discover it until my children were a bit older!

Fantastic venue for a first-ever regional dragonboating regatta. Great for viewing races. Lots of wildlife to enjoy watching! Not so keen on all the duck droppings though! And understand algae bloom is a problem in summer. Water level of lake could be higher. Beautiful setting & shape of lake. Looks like its enjoyed by a huge number of people. Parking... More

Walking tracks around the lake, nearby playground, public toilets make this a very pleasant area. Good parking.

A great place to walk and run. There are extensive walkways including a conservation area. The lake itself is used by dragon boaters and kayaker's. There is a small kids playground

Very good place for bird watchers. Lots of these feather creatures in the ponds, in the wetlands. And even a bird-watching tower is on place. Plus there are numerous picnic spots and a boat-shed. I really enjoyed my walk there.

What a shame to go for a walk around the lovely lake surrounded with rubbish :( I was visiting from Greytown and planned on a walk and maybe a spot of photography. The rubbish really bothered me so I spent the next 2 hours cleaning it all up myself in an old broken washing basket I found (I was told... More

I didn't know this place existed! It's a lovely walk - and used by runners, people walking their dogs, families and keep fit enthusiasts as well as casual walkers. I note other reviews give caution about letting dogs in the water, however for non dog owners, it's a lovely walk.
