Salt Cay is a wonderful place - quiet and no frills. This is not a place for people who cannot entertain themselves. The island has few year long residents but during the November to April time frame Northerners come to spend the winter. Some come for Whale watching from February thru March. Others come to scuba and snorkel. Some come... More

This is probably not your place if you want luxury, room service, golf, tennis, tv, organized activities, artificially enhanced landscape, a Disney-fied experience. Maybe not right for everyone ... but perfect for me! The possibility of snorkeling with humpbacks during their winter migration was the siren's call that drew me to Salt Cay. During my week-long stay I explored the... More

We highly recommend Porter’s Island Thyme and Coral Reef Bar & Grille. Be sure to reserve your table and order before 3PM on the day you plan to dine, or even the day before. If you like wine, you can order a whole bottle and drink it over multiple meals or take the remainder with you. Porter’s features wings on... More

Location of the Castaway cottage was perfect! I can see why they call it the Castaway. You feel like you have the beach all to yourself. Private and just a step away to the crystal clear water with the most outstanding coral head reefs. Where else can you go where you can have your morning coffee on the beach while... More

We came to Salt Cay to see the whale migration. We read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, which helped a lot! So read them! There were some things I didn't see that I wish we had known about. We took Jet Blue out of NY to Provenciale (Provo), we then waited about 3 hours to catch our flight on... More

It is truly a treasure. We spent two weeks, mostly on the beach, reading a wonderful array of books from the library. We took long walks and bicycle rides. We made sure to turn off our lights by nine so that the cows could sleep, and woke up to a harmony of donkeys and roosters in the morning. We enjoyed... More

Can you enjoy a vacation on Salt Cay? The answer is yes if you want to disconnect from everything. This is an island that feels forgotten. It feels like the Caribbean's version of a town that has sort of died - the industry it used to revolve around (salt) left. The island would like to be a tourist haven but... More

Three of us boarded a tiny plane at Provo airport destined for a day on Salt Cay. The flight alone was an adventure! Flying over the islands of the T&C was absoultely breathtaking. We landed on a small grassy airstrip and were greeted by....well, nobody. It didn't take us long to meet a friendly islander who got us where we... More

Salt Cay is incredible - the island is home to about 60 people. There are more animals around than people by far! This island is not for the those looking for luxury and it is quite rustic and charming. We stayed for 2 nights and if you like to rough it a bit, this is a must see! There are... More
