Excellent skiing conditions on perfectly groomed slopes and tracks for slalom, downhill, cross-country or the ever increasingly popular snowboarding. Ski slopes, at 900 – 1,361 metres above sea level with a total length of 11 km, are honed with snow cannons and perfectly prepared for skiers of every age group. Don’t miss out on the chance to try nighttime skiing or get a bird’s eye view of Donovaly by paragliding. If you are drawn to freeride or freestyle with its rails, jumps and other obstacles, then we’ve got our snowboard park just for you. Or do you want to skate, or go sledging, or try a ride in a dog-sledge or horse drawn sleigh, or go bowling, or stay indoors and ski on a trainer? Absolutely no problem here in Donovaly! Coming early morning almost first in parking place, possibly to park for free. Rented skiing equipment just nearby and ski slope. Snow ❄️ was icy but enjoyed it as not being on skis ⛷️ for few years. Winter ❄️ was warm but somehow it was ok to ski 🎿 here at least on few ski lifts 🚡. Biggest slopes were not open yet. Possibility to eat and drink 🍺 in few places close to 🚠

Hi, I would be visiting Park Snow DOnovaly in the coming weeks. Could someone please give me some suggestions on how to best reach the park from Banska Bystrica centre? Also, any suggestions for some beginner's skiing? where we can rent the equipment, and what are the average prices?

Snow park with a lot of 🎿 lifts, no queues even on weekends. We enjoyed it very much. We forgot there our ski sticks in the evening and we got it back from the bar. The only negative thing was that the poppy seed strudel was already sold out as I wanted to try it

Skiing here is pretty basic. The slopes are not too busy, but that is only because the lift capacity is so limited. Queues can be quite long at busy times. Lift passes are not that cheap. There is also limited food options on the slopes.

A really nice, small ski park with mostly blue OR red snow fields (sadly they aren’t switched), perfect for a weekend ski tour.
The town, Donovaly is a nice and cosy jewelry box of Slovakia.

It was a first real ski experience for me after I took a few lessons in a ski school with artificial ski hill. Donovaly is easy to access and offers good options for blue and red tracks. For beginners with zero experience I would recommend trail no.7 with really light descend to gain some practice. Trail no. 6 is the largest and widest one, enjoyable with a little routine. Trail no.4 is quite narrow with quite a few deeper part, it's definitely exciting, but might be a little too challenging for a beginner.

Compair to Austria it is twice cheaper. Of cause there are less black or red sky ways there. But it is perfect for beginners there. For the super fit profit can be less fan there.
The lifts are ti 4 pm open, costs around 40 euro (if I am not wrong). All the necessary equipment you can rent there as well, for 10 euros more you will get the new one.

If you're looking for a pleasant place to ski and snowboard, then Donovaly, Slovakia is the place for you and your family. For a group or family with varied ski and snowboarding experience you'll find a wide-range of runs. For those in our group that needed special one-on-one instruction there were friendly and patient teachers for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is fun, the food and restaurant experiences were great, and the accommodations were clean and service friendly. This is a great value and I keep coming back!

I was here in September. The wiew from Nova hola is very beaufifull. Cabin lift is not expensive.
There are also many atractions for children. You can also go to DONOVALKOVO, which is characterized as Main city of childern.

We stopped in Donovaly for a couple of hours in August as we needed to break the journey across the country. It's beautiful in summer as much as in winter. We took the chair lift to take us up to the Nova Hola where were watched the paragliders taking off. Travelling down, you can only use the enclosed cabins which are spaced out between the chairlifts - every 4 minutes. The descent was quite fast. At the bottom of the chairlift we walked over to the toboggan run, it is so worth the money. Great fun for all ages. There is free parking at by the Goral cottage restaurant but please be mindful not all locals and tourist can park so watch out not to get blocked in.

Kérdésem: Egyáltalán nem egyértelmű a honlapon, hogy van-e szánkópálya. Semmiféle erre utaló infó nem találtam. Ez így félreértésre és bosszúságra ad okot. Most talán az derül ki, hogy a szánkópálya hétvégén vehető igénybe? Szerintem, ha egyértelmű lenne a szánkózás jelenléte, akkor sokan használnák. Miért ne? Így viszont sok a csalódott vendég. Javaslatom: legyen a honlapon egy szánkózás fül, és írják ki, hogy mi a helyzet. Minden felvilágosítást! Biztos vagyok benne, hogy csomó ember használná, hisz a szánkózni szeretők elég mostoha helyzetben vannak a síelők mellett. Unikum lenne egy jó kis pálya! A szánkózó is jó vendég, hisz vacsorázik, iszik, megszáll éjszaka, szóval költ, mint vendég.

Nincsen szánkózási lehetőség, főleg a sípályán. Régen volt még zárás után talán a Zahradiste pályán. Azok a síterepek ahol kifejezetten van szánkópálya (mint Ausztriába több helyen) ott fennhangon hirdetik is a weboldalukon.

Can't help with transport, but lots of snow machines if you go on to the Park snow web site there are links to the Web cams so you can see the snow been made now (25/11/16) and it is very good for novice's
