Beautiful region. It was about a 90 min drive from San Salvador and I came up here on a personal guided tour with Centro America Tours. My guide Benjamin was excellent. The hike to the top of the Santa Ana Volcano was the highlight of my stay in El Salvador. My guide on the trail Herzon was great. 4 mile round trip hike that was moderately strenuous but beautiful views along the way including of the nearby Izalco Volcano. Sights and smells of the active volcano when we reached the top were awesome. Didn't see too much wildlife when visiting but it was midday. There is also an observation point with views of Lake Coatepque in the park. It was clouding up at this point in the afternoon but I could imagine this would be beautiful from photos that I've seen.

There are lot of spots where you can tak e pictures o admire the lake and the volcano. For those who are in a good physical condition you should definitely go for the top of the volcano

We were one of the first people here in the morning and the view from the coffee shop was breathtaking.

We went on the nature walk and were disappointed we didn't really see much wildlife. Happens I guess but didnt really make the trip.

Views were great from lookout points.

Was here 4th of March for the morning.

Well worth the time and effort! The views were spectacular. Our guide Selene was excellent and patient when we needed to go slower or take a break. The climb was challenging for a couple of oldish (55 & 60) people, but definitely doable. This was a highlight of our month long adventure in El Salvador.

We came on a Saturday on December 21 with Salvadorean Tours. We got there at 10 am and there were plenty of people arriving already. We stayed for 1 hour and by the time we left, the parking lot was full.

Our guide asked a local guide to join us on a loop walk where we went up 2 platforms to see the lagoon. That walk took 50 minutes but at a very leisurely pace.
You do have to walk in the forest. We had great views on the platforms and the weather was nice.

This park is really awesome! There’s 3 volcanos all in one location. From the entrance of the park you can see Volcan Izalco. Per tour guide, you can climb Volcan Izalco only on the weekends. My dad and I climbed up to Volcan ilamatepec. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to the volcanic crater. Once you’re at the top you get beautiful views of lago cuatepeque, Volcan Cerro verde, Volcan Izalco, and the inside of volcan ilamatepec. This was probably my favorite part of my trip to El Salvador. The tour up the volcano departs at 11. I would recommend that you take some good hiking boots, especially if you have weak ankles like myself. It’s a pretty good hike so I wouldn’t recommend this hike if you’re really out of shape. Several people on our tour had to stay behind and didn’t make it to the top.

Went to visit and had an amazing drive up to the top! There were several Miradores (scenic view points/overlooks) to stop along the way to admire the towns below! Our day was overcast, but did not stop us from making it to the top and enjoy some of the local food stands!

The park is the place to go to hike Santa Ana. The drive up to the park is really pretty and there are nice views from the top. At times, the clouds roll in and you can't even see the hood of your car. There is an overlook that offers good views of the neighboring volcano. In the parking area, there are a few knicknack shops and several places to eat with solid local food. There is also a restaurant for something more formal.

Came across this park by chance. A worker in my hotel told me about the Santa Ana volcano and the hike starting at 11am at El Tibet. I asked our driver to take us there and we did the hike up to the summit. It was a great experience but you do have to be in decent shape. Going up and coming down took over 4 hours but it was worth it. We connected with nature and the views from the top were amazing. I can now tell people that I climbed a volcano. The guides and policemen that escort the tour were great. They were friendly and informative. We did tip them at the end.
