This is an incredible experience. The hike isn't too bad in terms of difficulty and once you get to the top it is so worth it. The views are magnificent. Definitely a must do.

On Aaugust 2016, together with my daughters we took the guided walking tour up to the amazing Santa Ana Volcano. It takes arount 1 hour 25 minutes to scale to the rim of the crater, during this climb you are amazed with beautiful views os Coatepeque Lake ( a volcanic lake) beneath. Beautiful and unforgetable experience.

I enjoyed the hike to the volcano. Note that it is mandatory to go with a guide. The guides leave everyday at 11:00 AM, so you need to be here on time to be able to join it. It takes about 3 hours in total, but it is not difficult. You just need good sneakers/hiking shoes, enough water and sun... More

Loved this hike! It's quite short and not too strenuous but the views down into the crater and if the surrounding mountains and lakes are incredible! We got chicken buses there and then went up with the guide and police escorts at 11. Other than the guides rushing the group up a little, it was a fantastic day!

Not an easy hike, takes about 2.5h each way but well worth is. They only allow one group (which can be very large) a day, and at first it is very slow, then people get spread out and you can go as fast or as slow as you like. Only bad thing is when coming down having at the end... More

This hike is super easy, steep for someone and gets a bit tiring but it takes about 2 hours there and back. You can avoid the entrance fee of where the guides start by getting off the bus a stop before and save $3 you still have to pay $1 for the guide (not much) and $6 for the entrance.... More

From there the police will Escort you to the top. You pay tha guide 1$ and an entrance fee to the top... More
