Great spot for beginners if you are taking surf lessons. The waves are consistent, and its all sand.... NO INJURIES!!! LOL! The beach is totally walkable, and pet friendly. Everyone you encounter is super nice too! LOVED the beach here!

good beach break, surf is fun when there are off shore winds with medium swell. a large swell makes for extra effort to paddle out. the water is super warm!

There was some surfing going on, but (given that I'm not a surfer myself) compared to what I saw in Hawaii, it was more beginners' waves. However, a long beach with white sand, and some restaurants, bars, surf schools, bakery etc. in walking distance. Parking...More

Guiones has become one of my fave beaches in Costa Rica for its extension, friendly water, gorgeous rocks that show itself on low tides and become perfect tide pools. Long walks and beautiful sunsets!

Clearly a great beach for kids learning to surf. Plenty of adult novices too. Very clean beach. About 2 mile walk from one end to the other.

Really beautiful at sunset -- we saw incredible sunsets during our visit. Nice sand, warm water, not too crowded (at this time of year). Lots of surfers of different skill levels. We enjoyed watching them for a while.

Tides vary greatly, so watch the tide schedule, the beach is mostly sand with some small sheltered areas.

It's a great place to go, practice surfing (all levels) and rest... Make sure you take a beach umbrella or similar to get some shadow as there are no trees at the beach.

I haven't needed to use one but there are plenty of ATV rental places where I believe it's about 50 dollars a day. You could try and buy one but they do get stolen a lot from talking to ex pats who live here and it might be... More

Around in what sense! They rent bikes with beach tires so that you can ride them right on the beach
