Great for the guys or girls if you are into vintage and planes

My husband and brother-in-law loved this and spent a happy couple of hours wandering whilst i had coffee in the cafe - oh, and a chocolate biscuit, both excellent.

A great experience to view all of the restored aircraft and to see the amount of work involved in restoration when seeing their workshops. Volunteer guides are available to answer your questions as well as working displays to check out. Took a flight over Tauranga and the hills in a bi-plane, no experience needed, just a head for heights in... More

We were looking for something to do on a rainy Saturday and this museum was recommended on google and other websites. Sadly the museum was closed when we arrived. Would have been nice to see that posted on they're website as it would have saved us a trip.

The museum was a great place to visit. It is not a massive sized attraction, with much of the museum being in a really Chocker Hanger... however their was so much detail and charm in the Hanger you could read and absorb over a couple of hours if it is your interest. I felt we got value for money and... More

We took our two kids (9 and 11) to this museum and it really wasn't their thing. However, it's a reasonably good collection of bits and pieces and anyone with a passing interest in aviation should check it out.

I visited Tauranga many times and reviewed already some hotels and restaurants. But recently I visited Aviation Museum for the first time - and I really liked it! Honestly, I expected something boring with a lot of old photos and may be a number of scaled models... However they had really interesting stuff. You may even get inside and sit... More

Classic Flyers museum is something Tauranga locals should be proud of. A real credit, considering how small the population is and that they don't really have any other museums to speak of. The thing I found most stand-out about this place is that you are able to touch and sit inside some of the aircrafts. Many of the aircrafts are... More

Only had an hour or so and it coincided with an event so most of museum was closed but main hanger was open which had quite a few interesting and generally well looked after exhibits. I think it would be a real treat to see this on an activity day when they have all the secondary areas open as I... More
