Interesting and exciting but extremely expensive.

The deltapark is exciting and intersting but it is extremely overpriced and expensive. It's a fine place to spend a day with the kids, provided there is good weather. The boat... read more

The title really says it all. It's not that it's not interesting as such, but you essentially pay €23 for a relatively small and old-fashioned museum and some pretty random attractions surrounding it, in an afternoon you have seen it all and you don't go home feeling you spend your time or money in a rewarding way.

If you don't recall what museums were like forty or fifty years ago, this place will bring it all back to you. Endless descriptions that are difficult to read, quaint old photos pasted on boards and positioned so as to be especially difficult to study. Odd little doors to open and then see, hear or ponder a part of the... More

The deltapark is exciting and intersting but it is extremely overpriced and expensive. It's a fine place to spend a day with the kids, provided there is good weather. The boat trip is nice, 45 minutes is not too long and not too short. The whale exhibition and the hurricane demonstration were a little too scary for the little ones.... More

Sorry to say that this park is way overpriced for things being offered. We visited the park May 7th 2014 and paid €80 for a family of four and an additional €7 parking fee. The deltaworks are impressive but the way this park shows it feels very static and old fashioned. Our hopes moved to the aquarium as we moved... More

I wish we would have read the reviews here before we threw away 60 euros + 7 euros for parking. Now I don't mind paying a lot to see something great, but this was truly not worth the money. To start with , I couldn't believe that they were charging extra for parking. I assumed that the 7 euros was... More

It was nice visit, but I was disappointed with the level presented by the park. Beautiful design and engineering but poor park. I feel sorry for the animals that every couple of hours doing the same old boring tricks. From nice things - I really enjoy storm simulator and inside of the whale. I'm happy that I was there. But... It was a real privilege to view the coastal defences of Zeeland which have been amazingly transformed over the last 50 years - and at Neeltje Jans you get the only good explanation of how it was achieved. You also get the chance to see the barriers close to. For all that it was worth going there. But the park... More

The good: a fascinating insight into Dutch water management, some worn out but entertaining and educating water games for kids (my son really enjoyed them)... The bad: worn out, tired, ridiculously overpriced for what it is on offer, many exhibits not working and/or poorly conceived, dire lack of maintenance .... This place was probably well worth visiting in the 90's... More

It pretends to be a water park. We went there for the Delta Works exhibition and the Oosterscheldekering. The Oosterscheldekering is worth the visit. The park isn't value for money...paying 100 euro's for an exhibition that has not been maintained, for a waterpark that offers only a sea-lion show a seals show and some water-playground for the kids up to... I wish we had not gone to Neeltje Jans, and I really don't think it is worth the effort. Fine sea lion show but it only lasted 10 minutes. The boat trip was waste of time, and personally I was in a que for an hour waiting to try the orcan simulator which was really nothing. Go to Efteling instead... More
