This was not our first visit here and not our first Memorial Day Service to attend here either but still has the ability to bring one to tears. Of all the American Cemeteries in the World - this is the only one completely "adopted" by...More

The cemetery field has less than 10.000 graves and looks a bit dull. It lays between cornfields and the design is a bit basic. I been to other memorial cemeteries, some with less graves which still looked a lot nicer than this one. There is...More

Very well maintained cemetery with enough parking to briefly stop and have a walk. Small info area in which the stories of some of the soldiers buried are displayed.

80,000 American military personnel from WWII were buried in this cemetery alone in Europe. A very solemn reminder of the horrors of war. A special place to pay your respect.

A moving tribute to Americans who lost their lives fighting for European freedom. Beautifully designed, landscaped, and maintained. The land has been granted to the US in perpetuity by the Netherlands government. Nice display summarizing the war effort. A sobering reminder of the past and...More

We arrived early on a rainy day and it was heartening to see a group of school children visiting the cemetery. For most of us in the US we have to travel to find history like this. I'm biased as I'm very much into WW2...More

Round trip Paris - Margraten - Paris is roughly 500 miles (800 km). If you rent a car it can be done in one day (10 hours). It is possible, but not recommended.
