Whether skiing I winter or hiking in summer Riederalp is always great. The best part is to hike up to the aletsch glacier.

In the clouds
May 2019 • Friends
This was the second unlucky day if the trip!
At the bottom the weather was great, as glee rode up the cable car, it gets cloudier as it climbed! Couldn’t see anything within 50yard, wasn’t scary walked on the iron bridge! Can’t mention about the Glacier we were supposed to see! Simply just white!
Heavy snow, we were in the clouds!

A great summer at Riederalp
Jul 2019 • Friends
It was terrific to be high up in the mountains with its cool breeze while the rest of the lowlands was suffering from a heat wave.

Nice!
Jul 2019 • Family
Very lovely the be here in the alps.
Riederalp is nice, but crowded. We also went to Bettmeralp and I liked that better. More to do for small children.

We have 3 children, 2, 4 and 5 years. De 4 and 5 year old could manage them quite well and the 2 year old adapted really quickly. It’s all very steep and the chalet we had Shangr-La, is at the end of Riederalp West. Pretty steep walk. Very doable luckily.

The walk to Villa Cassel starts at the end of the backyard. Ideal situation.

Children loved it here. We as parents plan not to come again for at least an other 5 years. The burden, the dangerous walks and all the electric fences were a bit to much. The children forgot it all of course. For small children in our age range, not the most ideal vacation. They have great stories though ;-)

Riederalp in the Summer
Jul 2018 • Friends
Walked from Bettmeralp to Riederalp after swimming in the lake, something I've always wanted to do but obviously not in the winter.
I will definitely return in winter to experience this magical place. Even with it been summer there was still a lot to do as Riederalp has a Golf Course and entertainment for children.

A unforgettable snow walk across the pillowy snow.

Awesome. I mean seriously what else can I say to describe this place. The resort was accommodating and suitably romantic for some muchu-muchu time!

Riding the cable car upwards to this place gives you a breathtaking view of the horizon all the way to your peripherals. We were incredibly lucky there was no snowstorm and the blue skies lasted for 3 continuous days while we were there.

Lots of families and couples here and because of how friendly the Switz are, i'd give this place a 6/5.

Tip: Save your time and take photos only when you are at the TOP of the mountain. Buy whatever snacks you need BEFORE the journey upwards to your resort.

Most charming ski resort
Feb 2018 • Friends
The most family friendly ski resort I ever visited. No cars allowed. Ski slopes are running through the village, so no hassle with driving to the first ski lift. Hiking paths are integrated in the ski area, so you (skiing and hiking) in some charming resto on the ski slope.

Worst ski experience yet in Switzerland
Dec 2017 • Family
This was the most grossly overpriced 1/2 day ski experience we have had yet in Switzerland. Added to that, the poor layout of the resort meant we spent far too much time going uphill. Investment has obviously been made into the infrastructure, but it seems the architects forgot that people on skis prefer to ski down to chairs/ cable cars, rather than hiking/ schussing up. A huge disappointment.
