We always pop in to visit and bring back a little piece each time. It is not cheap, but very distinctive and we like to watch the pots being painted. We also enjoyed a trip to the attached cafe (see separate review). Friendly staff and the pottery was very well wrapped to keep it safe on our return journey.

Thank you so much for your generous review, it's always nice to hear from people who return to the pottery on their visits to the Algarve - in some cases nowadays it is the grandchildren of the original visitors that return, often bringing their own children with them. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit. More

The quality and style of this pottery is beautiful. The pottery has a shop and also a small bar/restaurant which looked very good value, although we didn't eat in it. Fine for a short visit with coffee or lunch.

A lovely shop full of Portuguese pottery. Well designed and displayed, but it is cast and quite typical. Very nice souvenirs, and they will pack and ship as most objects are heavy. Also a little tea and coffee shop attached, but we did not eat there. Very charming, in blue ceramic tile.

Thank you very much for your review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to our pottery. I'm glad you got to examine and enjoy the panels in the Bar Bacchus café, and I thought you might be interested to know that the tiles in the café were painted by our founding artist, taking inspiration from Virgil's Georgics (a... Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised to find outstanding pottery and various pieces. Ended up buying a few large plates . Would buy more but bringing home on the plane would be a weight issue. Must go if you love pottery

We visited Porches Pottery as part of a tour offered by Rotatur. It was an amazing spot where there were two women decorating pottery. We were able to browse through their goods which were wonderful. There were all sorts of dishes and decorative tiles. I found an excellent small dish in a group of seconds and got it for about... More

A pleasant building where you can observe women decorating pottery items and browse a fairy extensive display of finished ceramics. Little or no information on the production process and the steps involved from thowing the article, through decoration, glazing and firing. Quite a diverse range of items and prices seemed very high. The restaurant is delightfully decorated with a large... More

Easy to find along the highway Porches is always a nice stop. The pottery is hand painted here and different than what you find in the tourist shops. There is a section with seconds that are available at lower prices. Good restaurant attached.

If you want to get the famous blue and white pottery, you can visit this one. Has a cafe but we did not try it.

Finest hand painted pottery of all descriptions. They will do small commision pieces as well as general gifts. I had some christening gifts personalised and were well accepted
