Despite bad weather (wind and rain) Marco gave us a beautiful birding tour of a coastal marsh near Grosseto and Tuscan hill towns. The birds were very hard to see due to the weather but we saw well over 30 species. The area was spectacular including views from an ancient fortress high on a hill. This is an area that... More

Marco took my wife and I on a day's birding trip through Arezzo and the immediate surrounds. It was a fantastic day out and apart from the great birds Marco managed to find for us, he also entertained us with his vast cultural knowledge and bubbling personality. It was a privilege to spend this day with him and we highly... More

I took my 17-year-old son who is an avid birder and our two younger (13 and 11-year-old) kids birding with Marco around the coastal lagoons around Orbatello. He was both extremely knowledgable and engaging, but also patient and kind with the younger ones. He took us to beautiful and diverse spots to sightsee and also brought us by nice local... More

Marco was a phenomenal host and we had so much fun on the visit. My teenage son is a very active birder and Marco has incredible depth of the birds in the region but also the history and nature of the region. We went to so many great spots and saw many birds - but also many points of regional... More

Booked a day of birding in Umbria and Tuscany with a local guide, Daniele Cavazzoni in late November 2016. We birded mostly around Lake Trasimeno. In all we saw 42 species, a very good day for the temperate zone in November. We found Daniele a very likable fellow to bird with and a knowledgeable guide. He also had a very... More

I organised a bird-watching day out for my girlfriend's birthday with Marco. We had no prior experience of bird-watching, but we are both nature lovers and decided to try it out. Marco was extremely professional and helpful in advising us the best spot to chose. I live in Perugia, so I know quite well the surrounding areas. We ended up... More

My husband and I traveled with Marco to the Po River Delta and the Venice Lagoon. Our primary objective was birding. Marco knew all the right places. We even saw a black necked loon! Marco was familiar with many aspects of the natural history of the Delta and the Lagoon. He also shared his knowledge of Italian culture and food... More

Marco is the best! Three of us spent a weekend birding the Maremma area with him. Marco knew all the best spots to see birds. We even saw the Eurasian bittern much larger and slower than our American bittern. Marco's knowledge extends beyond birds. His knowledge of natural history is extensive. His knowledge of Italian culture and food makes a... More

This was the third time we have spent time with Marco in the past four years, and it won't be the last! Marco is an experienced guide, knowledgeable in so many areas, who is also able to introduce his clients to places they might not have visited on their own, and more than that to places they might not have... Liz and I were scheduled for a one week Birds and Art of Venice Tour. It made no sense to travel to Italy for a week so we were put in touch with Marco to program a pre-trip. Marco was marvelous. I sent him about 4 lines in an email about what I wanted to do and he produced exactly... More
