The floor mosaics depicting the tree of life was created in 1165 by a young monk is fantastic & some of the best you will see. Difficult to get a perspective of it from ground level & the church pews in place.

I guess you get used to skulls and bones in church architecture, but this place takes it to a wholly different level.
Yes the floor mosaics are fabulous, and the ceiling ceramics should not be missed, but the martyrs shrine is deeply disturbing.
We have been to so many churches in this area that they all begin to look the same.
