The castel was closed, but could have better care
Jul 2020
It's understandable that because of COVID the castel were closed, but the city could take better care of the outside. It's dirth and has signs of deterioration.

Nothing special
Sep 2019 • Friends
Unfortunately every access I ve had to it was only promoting or showing art paintings or exhibiting banners about expositions in other buildings. There are no Castel objects or things related to it, only a pair of cannons. From the outside the View is ok but that is it. Not much

Fun place to visit for a little while

Much going there except for occasional art display and nice view of the ocean. The area has a lot of great restaurants and there is an energetic vibe with people milling about in the summer time.

Not too accessible to the public.

It's more of a gallery and exhibition space, not much about the history of the castle itself, and areas are closed to the public, at least they were in the winter when I visited. Couldn't get outside to the roof at that time.

worth a visit

On a cold windy evening the warmth of the Castello was a nice surprise so was the photography exhibition taking place, quite atmospheric, the site is surprisingly small, clean and during the day I'm sure the views from the top would have been wonderful as it was, the lights of the harbour from the steps were very picturesque

Beautiful Castle, and Lovely Walk
Sep 2018 • Couples
Perched over the sea, with its commanding position, this is a tremendous spot to sit and ponder. Many bars and restos circle the castle (on the town side), where it's easy and pleasant to have a snack or refreshment and study the castle and its surroundings. Have a walk along the seawall and enjoy the fresh air.

Jul 2018 • Friends
There is exhibition of Joan Miro in the Castle, 6 euro per person, but opened only rooms on first floor, the top of the Castle is closed 😥, we can't see beautiful view on harbour, and ground floor also closed ☹️

This had a Miro exhibition when I visited which was fantastic! The Castello has a superb location overlooking the port.

Very disappointing
Apr 2018 • Couples
You are no longer able to walk to the top of the Castle to get the panorama. It is cordoned off with no signs saying this is the case. Very disappointing. We were charged 6euro each as there was an art exhibition of Joan Miro showing at the time. It wasn’t worthwhile and I would give this a miss.
