Amazing cave and amazing guides in English. It is a somewhat difficult walk for anyone with balance issues, claustrophobia or physical disabilities. Thankfully the os an elevator for exiting. The caverns are visually mind-boggling. They are wet and slippery yet worth double the price of...More

I strongly recommend getting to their website first and checking the timetable of Italian only or English speaking tours. This will also help you minimise waiting time between the groups. There are two types of guided tours, each offered in English or Italian, at different...More

Visiting caves is not the first thing somebody thinks of when visiting Puglia, but a friend recommended that we visited them and it was a great discovery! Try going as early as possible (visits start at 9:00 AM) because it gets quite crowded later on....More

Both our 3 and 6year old children had a great time. The caves are a natural wonder well maintained and easy to manouver through even with kids.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed. My experience was just the opposite. I was overwhelmed by this underground world that neither pictures nor words can adequately describe. Must be seen to believe.

First get to Bari Central station to Aldo Moro Square where most buses stop. Enter the orange building to your left, if you are facing the more modern grey building which is obviously the station bearing the blue signs 'To The trains' etc. On entering...More

It’s enormous, our tour (pre-booked) was in Italian only (we weren’t advised) however the visuals and sheer dimension and feat of nature are absolutely worth taking the few hours to walk through. Beware, there are a LOT of stairs down into the caves, albeit very...More

GROTTE DI CASTELLANA (PUGLIA) I would not recommend a visit to the caves (16 EUR). We took the longer tour something like 2 miles which included the hall in the end -the Grotta Bianca. The walking was hard and long, about 2 hours. It was...More
