Stunning views on Achill
Oct 2021 • Couples
Absolutely stunning views on this clearly marked easy to follow trail. Stop off at one of the strategically positioned picnic tables and enjoy the spectacular scenery while taking a break. A good idea to wear walking boots as a bit wet in places.

Top notch spot

The loop was well marked out. The route was easy under foot and a great pint of Guinness in Pattens bar at the bottom

The most stunning Loop Walk in Ireland
Aug 2021
This was , without doubt, THE MOST STUNNING LOOP WALK we have done in Ireland. The track is very well signposted, loved the occasional benches and the picnic table. But what we particularly liked was the variety of scenery around every major change of direction. Footwear with ankle support would be beneficial as would a walking pole.We were lucky to do this on a beautiful sunny Sunday two weeks ago. Our drinks at the picnic table outside Pattens Pub was a treat when we finished

A 4.21 mile walk with just under 700 feet of ascent. As others have said, walking boots are a must as even on an August morning parts fo the walk were very boggy and slippery. I was glad of my walking poles. Convenient parking opposite the pub at the start. Well marked route with places to stop and enjoy the view en route. However, not for those with mobility issues as there is one four step metal stile to get over a wall. I'd love to revisit in better weather but the views were spectacular nevertheless especially when the sun appeared near the end.

A truly stunning walk.

Dud this walk yesterday 26th Sept. We definitely had the good weather on our side. It really is a fabulous walk. Well marked. Even on a dry day you will need waterproof shoes/boots as it is very boggy. Bring a picnic as there are benches with amazing views.
