Kuwanajō was a castle that practically floated, making use of three rivers to create moats, it sat on a pivotal water-crossing of the Tokaidō road. Not much is left today of the castle in this fishing town, as even the stone walls were repurposed for building break waters. There is a reconstructed two-story yagura. The moat survived, but there isn't much left of Kuwana's castle. It is pretty quiet around the park.

We enjoyed our visit to Kyuka Park. The grounds were beautifully kept including a moat around the castle remains. There was a playground and picnic tables to have lunch.

I visited there at the end of March 2015, regret that there was no cherry blossom at that moment. I can imagine how wonderful if I take a boat trip during the cherry blossom season.

A small park with little stalls of food,footbridges,and wonderful cherry blossoms in April, in a water setting.Thirty minutes there is ample time to see it all.Would not make a special trip there unless you are in the area.More of an attraction for the locals really.Easy to get to with spacious car park and toilets.Surrounding area not all that attractive..just ordinary... More
