Visited end of Sept 2017 and the coral grass are still red in colour. We expected there to be more coral grass, there is probably other sites we didn't visit.

Perfect sunny day to learn Smelt fishing. Easy and quick. Just keep your fingers crossed you don't break through the ice!

Visited on 13/9/2016 , two days after Sangoso Matsuri(coral grass festival). The coral grass and red and vast. Stunning! There is a public toilet and a stall selling farm produce near the car park.

Lake Notoro is right next to the Sea of Okhotsk. After viewing Cape Notoro, we followed the GPS and drive along the lake. We stopped at one of fishing port.

It will not be at its peak. I was there in mid September and it was almost at its full bloom.

Aug would be too early. Usually chg to red in late Sep. might as well check out flower fields in that area.
