Description:

A wonderful little lighthouse located at Lion's Head on the Bruce Peninsula...

A wonderful little lighthouse located at Lion's Head on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. It's the gateway to a municipal harbour, one of the deepest on Gerogian Bay. A peaceful place to relax in the summer and take in the crystal clear waters and magnificent cliffs just opposite the lighthouse. Winter is just as wonderful as the ice builds up on it and the stormy waves crash over the jetty. Well worth a stop in Lion's Head to see it.

We stopped here on a road trip through the Bruce Peninsular for our picnic lunch. It was absolutely stunning. Well worth an explorative walk along the coast of the lake and to the lighthouse. Beautiful. One minor problem... public washrooms were locked. But there are cafes in town that saved the day!

We actually visit this lighthouse often each year . It is just so much of what Lion's Head is. It is used by boaters to find the marina. We have an amazing picture taken at it in a February 2014

The walk from the beach to the harbour is charming and visually pleasing. The view of the Lions Head and Georgian Bay is a must see. the marina has many boats to please every sailor.

Nothing too spectacular about the lighthouse. It is good to see once but the surrounding areas is gorgeous. It is locked as well so couldn't enter or explore...

The original lighthouse use to stand proudly at the end of the cement dock in Lion's Head harbour. When either the Fisheries Dept or Transport Canada, came into the town early morning, back in the mid 60's (some of the real historians will have the exact date) and dismantled this historic Lighthouse. They replaced it with a blinking light on... More

Visited the area with my parents. Was awesome overall. I highly recommend visiting it during windy days! (Watch your hats, though!) because this is when waves splash over the barrier onto you! Feels great and makes a great family photo! ;)

The lighthouse itself is not anything special but the rest of the area sure was. Went for a quick side trip and stayed all afternoon. There is a small beach that is great for swimming and a lovely park setting for a picnic it was great not too many people I loved it.

A lovely side trip to pull your picnic lunch and just relax for awhile, ample bench seating and picnic table. A nice place to even spend the entire day. We just stopped over before heading to Tobermorry but will surely be back. interesting observatory dark sky deck along the marina.
