If it had not been for the lady in the Stratford i-site we probably would not have visited these gardens, but I am so glad that we took time out to visit these beautiful gardens which are a real testament to a man's love of creating a beautiful garden. The gardens are free, as is the tea and coffee! you... More

This is a large garden with trails leading to a variety of ecosystems. There a many colorful and mixed types of flowers as well as delightful children's play area. It is located on the road between Opunake and Eltham, near the road to Dawson Falls in Egmont National Park. Relaxing and enjoyable. No admission cost.

Lovely peaceful walks round the gardens with information about how and why they were created. Free admission and help yourself to tea or coffee, much appreciated. Includes a play area for children.

This is a beautiful garden to stroll through and have a picnic in. The little township of Kaponga (3km down the road) has a 4Square or a great café, Drift Inn (Sandwiches are amazing) where you can purchase picnic essentials. The gardens have several relatively easy trails you can follow around, along with expansive lawns. When we were there they... More

This is a must-see for garden or nature lovers, or just those who want a bit of peace and quiet as they meander through the many easy walking tracks. There's large expanses of lawn, a playground and a visitor centre where I think you can access a complimentary cup of tea (I didn't go inside, but that's what it looked... More

This is a glorious and inspiring place to visit whether you are a gardener, someone who enjoys a lovely garden walk, or children wanting a creative and natural place to play. Created over 75 years by Bernie and Rose, a couple who ran a dairy farm, raised two sons, created the garden, hosted garden visits and also contributed to NZ's... More

We had our wedding ceremony at the Hollard Centre followed by photos within the gardens, it is a truly beautiful place and the staff are very helpful as well. Well worth a visit for locals or travellers wide. You wont be disappointed

This garden offers to routes for those who have restricted time. Www followed the shorter walk and saw a variety of plants and rhodendrums all in flower.
