Today the clock and glockenspiel was out of commission, probably due to cyclone Gita. The notice gave no suggestion of when it might be repaired

It was great to see the clock and listen to the storey - The speaker had blown so hard to hear over the 18 wheeler trucks going thru town directly in front of it. Maybe a speaker on the otherside of the road would help...More

This clock tower surely adds features and values to Stratford. William Shakespeare's famous scene 'Romeo and Juliet' is played 4 times a day by this clock tower. This is a must-see attraction in Stratford.

Resembles a medieval tower, there's a Glockenspiel every other hour, and were lucky to be right there.

To the fine people of Stratford who came up with this idea and then engineered it. Phooey on the complainers. It was a great little scheme to enrich their town's tourist image and it was executed with no little degree of skill by Kiwis themselves....More

Despite the naysayers, I really liked this attraction. There isn't anywhere else really like it in NZ and I reckon the fact that this old Glockenspiel still exists is great and a credit to the town, as Im sure its upkeep is not cheap. It...More

After having this attraction built up by family (obviously having me on), I was bemused, disappointed. It's hardly an "attraction" with it's piped dialogue and music, with doors flapping open with dummies appearing at the windows. It is pretty lame actually.
