A friend and I took a joint kiteboarding lesson, and even though the wind didn't fully cooperate, the instructor got us through dragging and even got us up on the board for a bit. Very cheerful and friendly!

I rarely write reviews but 15 Knots earned my respect. With experience in different locations both internationally and domestically (Aruba, Caberete, Canada, Greece, Miami, Key West, North Carolina and Rhode Island), I can say that 15 Knots in Puerto Rico is among the best operations I have come across. Everyone involved at this school from the owner (Juan Carlos) to... More

A friend and I flew in for a long weekend and loved every minute at the school. One of us a complete newbie while the other was an experience kiteboarder. Instructors were knowledgeable, patient, but we also go on the water almost immediately. Overall, I can't recommend it enough. Definitely getting back there this winter!

The team at 15 knots is very friendly and Juan Carlos is an excellent teacher. They put me in the water almost right away after a few safety lessons. I was standing on the board just 40 min after getting in the water. Next time I go to PR I'm definitely going back.

This is a great place to rent gear, get lessons, and get some extra help if you're new to the area. The owner and instructors are very professional. Especially being Puerto Rico, they answer email and calls. Another point that is big with me is safety, and the staff keeps things safe. The beach can get crowded, they'll go the... More

I brought my own kites and harness and rented a cabrinha trigger from 15 knots for $30/day. Worked out great, but unfortunately no waves off Isla Verde beaches on the days that I could ride. I observed them teach a couple of people while I was there and they seem to do a great job, including jet ski assisted water... More

Having read the reviews I had high expectations and wasn't disappointed. Although the hotel that they were operating out of was shut down (the only visible sign of the school is now a flag planted on the beach in front of the abandoned hotel, with the school's name on it ), everything about the school's instructors, equipment and attitude is just... I thought I'd share about our beautiful spring break down to PR a few weeks ago & the fantastic experience my family & I had with 15 Knots! Sure, there was the requisite Puerto Rican crystal-clear water, 80-degree sun, and non-stop wind (we were 7 for 7 kiting /10M days!), but more importantly, the kite support and instructional staff at... This is perhaps the most approachable crew I've seen in this business. They are so friendly and helpful to the folks that come in and just need gear or those that want instruction on best practices in getting their feet wet in kiteboarding. There are those who prefer flat water but where the are located is perfect for beginners too.... More
