Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We tried several different beaches whilst on holiday in Grande-Terre and this was one of our favourites. It has a nice sandy beach, shade under the trees, it's safe for swimming and it's quite good for snorkeling (quite a lot of fish to look at). There's also a restaurant, public toilets and fresh water showers. Car parking is a bit limited so you need to get there early to grab a spot. The only downside is that there is a lot of unsightly leaf litter under the trees but you get that on all of the beaches.

Small beach with lots of seaweed. We went there on a Sunday so it was fun watching the local families playing in the sand and enjoying picnics. Lots of palm trees to provide shade from the sun.
The toilets were horrendous, we had to leave sooner than we wanted because I just could not go into such a filthy place.
Small parking place, which was already full early in the morning. We had to park pretty far away. Might be easier on a weekday.

This is a Great beach, ( For Me ) Located in a smallish bay, With sand all along the shoreline, Allowing easy entry. The water is shallow for some distance. There is quite a lot of sea grass, And if Snorkelling, like snorkelling through a field !
Snorkelling This is a really good beach But not really for beginners, As if you look out to sea 200 meters, To where the waves crash, Thats where it all happens.
The easy way, is to go straight out, slightly to the right, It starts just as almost swim out of the Bay, Then go left. Theres loads of Fish, Some coral etc, Really worth it.
Go weekdays, as the carpark is not very big.

This beach is so relaxing. The sand is light brown.

Kids play with no worries.

I like the palm trees. They give us some shade.

There are boats in the ocean.

There are also a lot of people in the ocean. Some talk, others swim.

A great beach to enjoy!

2 beaches in one place. One of them is at your own risk and this one beach was amazing, because there was a little people (sometimes nobody) and around you running iguans, some was up to tree. They looking for some to eat what tourists left there but generally they are shy. It was perfect vocation experience.
Snorkeling was not possible, because wather was cloudy.

A perfect little beach, tucked away just west of saint-anne. Small, cosy, protected by reefs. Good for familys, fine for snorkling. There is a small cafe and toilets.

excellent view the sea is accros the rocks and if you follow on your right the small road you will find a better and more private place to stay and relax.

After reading reviews about snorkeling here, my partner and I brought our gear to try it out after visiting Pointe de Chateaux on the far east side of the island. We got to the beach around 430 and set up near one of the trees. Even though the water is shallow and calm, there was too much sand to see many fish near the coral. Perhaps we should try earlier in the day, or another edge of the beach.

We have tried this beach as we rented an apartment in the area and we found it to be the best combination of sand, water, snorkeling and calm for our family so we used it as the main beach during our stay.
Initially not impressed with the size I realized the beach is not very busy except week ends of course. If you come early morning you will park very close to the beach itself for afternoon better consider leaving your car upper on the street. Count the road to beach is pretty steep.
The sand stripe is not very large but its pretty clean and there are trees you can use for shadow. The waters are good for swimming and best you can snorkel as there is plenty of fish in the water grass and coral spots just few meters away from shore. We didn't use water shoes but we have seen sea urchins so careful where you step.
If you are there stay for the sun set, the views are just magnificent.
Large iguanas come on this beach to cool too so you might get to see one.
This is also a spot for surfers but the water break is much further from the shore so this kind of separates them from those who simply look for a calm swimming spot.
