Beach near the town center of Le Gosier. It is very difficult to find a parking space.

On the beach, there are a few pitches but the latter remains small. During our afternoon there was a strong wave for children under 3 years old,

There are way too many bars on this beach that take up a third of the space.

This beach is ideal for drinking a good cocktail in the late afternoon but I do not recommend it for a peaceful family time.

Finally, a positive point is that there is a beautiful view of the islet of Gosier.

This beach is cool and was a 2 min drive ...so kinda close to our place. It's got all the vendors cafes bars and restos you need. It's not the cleanest beach area cause it's a city beach but not to bad. A better city beach in my opinion is the one in St Ann. Datcha is cool because it's got tours that bring you in various ways to the island across which is beautiful in itself. We saw water bikes, paddle boards and kayaks. We did some snorkeling of the beach and saw a billfish, a puffer and a few others. Tonnes of crabs on the rocks. Get a bokit a Jacky bokit which is a good one up the path to the park.

Very nice beach with a number of restaurants in town of Le Gosier. Good place to chill with a book or children.

This beach is local, with beautiful warm water and wonderful views of the nearby island (Ilet du Gosier) and of the distant mountains of Bas Terre. There are several excellent bars and restaurants on the beach and for the price of a drink, one can sit in their lounge chairs all day. There is also abundant shade, if you get there early enough, from the many trees that dot the beach. The sand is white and very fine and there are some small waves that lulled us to sleep. There are three outdoor showers and a water spigot to wash off your feet. What we liked most about this beach is that it is not your typical "touristy resort" destination. It is local and unpretentious. One thing I did not check on was the availability of restrooms, since our room was close enough to walk back to. I would recommend this beach if, like us, you tend to avoid the glitzy, high end resorts. We loved it!

We arrived on the cruise ship and headed over to a close beach that was very nice with places to eat and of course enjoy the beach..It was spectacularly beautiful and I know we need more time there. The islanders here have had their tussles with taking the island off the cruise circuit to remain a more elite island, so I made sure to practice my French when asking for a table or shopping in the stores! The beach is lovely - I would like to return sometime in the future..

Beautiful white sand beach with kayak rentals available to go to the island just 15 mins across the ocean. I rented from a pair of French brother and sister. Kayak rental was 10 euro an hour or 15 euro for 2 hours and they even throw in the snorkels for free! It was an awesome deal and they speak English! They’re super nice and helpful. There’s also a lot of food in the area including that coconut sorbet that the locals crank out with the ice and salt!

This beach has nice sand , gradually declining into the water. It is protected from the waves a little bit by a reef but still does have some waves (if you have very small children, the little island might be better suited). The beach has a few restaurants. There are people, always, after all, it is right in town. But the sand is nice and there is also some shade under the trees and quite a bit of sand if you are looking for sun. Part of the beach is lit up in the evening, and people still go swimming there then. There is a shower right next to the entrance from the parking lot, but it can be easy to miss. If you are looking for beach chairs and umbrellas, bring your own. There were no sellers of trinkets which was nice!

one of the best beaches in Guadaloupe. Lot of small restaurants and easy parking. Crystal blu sea and no sargassi.

The Tall Man and I came to hang out on La Datcha after someone had recommended it to us. It made for a great lounging point as we waited for the Gosier night market to start up. The signs label it "Plage du Bourg," and it is right in the center of town, with a good mix of locals and tourists enjoying the sand and water. It's a narrow strip of a beach, which makes it a little busy, but there's space if you keep walking past the more populated areas near the beach-side eateries. It was easy enough to find a shady spot under some trees.

The water itself is quite shallow, as the sand slopes very gently into the bay. It's also somewhat of a shielded area, so the waves are extremely gentle with virtually no current, great for all the kids and families in the water (and for me, since I can't swim that well!).

In the near distance is Ilet du Gosier, which is supposed to be a lovely stop. We didn't have time to go out there, but we saw small motor boats taking people back and forth. It's also possible to swim out there, although the one person we saw doing that had a buoy attached to their leg -- a wise move, since there are many boats around.

After some swimming and sunbathing, we grabbed a drink at Casa Datcha, a juice bar right on the sand where we could further enjoy the sunset. I've heard the place lights up at night with live music and dancing, so we'll have to come back for that!

First you should know, we do not speak French and the people we encountered spoke very little English. The day we were there, the taxis were nowhere to be found so we took the city bus (paid in euro's) and had an adventure. The beach was lovely, with a few shops and small restaurants. We sat under the umbrella’s and enjoyed a delicious lunch and had a great day.
