This beach is reminiscent of Bundoran beach in Ireland. Very long ( long enough for the annual horse races!) and cleaned by the tide which retreats for about a quarter of a mile.

Beautiful beach on the other side of Santander's bay. Stunning views of Santander and perfect to walk/swim/surf. There's a cosy cafe on the beach with great views too.

After long days out on the bike in the Picos mountains on our return some of us would take the ten minutes walk down to the beach for some sun sand and waves watching the locals while we supped cold bears.

We did not use the bus, but instead we used the small ferry. this runs from Santander to Somo and back, every hour. Bicycles and luggage can easily be loaded on and off this ferry and the fare is inexpensive. The ferry... More
