I am deeply saddened to see after a year of first visiting this "zoo" that there are still enclosures with a tiger, 2 bears and monkeys. This is not an appropriate space for such large amazing animals. The enclosures are tiny and unsuitable for them....More

I came a day trip to Ayamonte from Portugal. Whilst walking around, I came across signs for a zoo by accident and when I realised it was free, went inside. The park is quite nice initially, with a maze and nice plants....then came the animals....More

I visited the park while waiting for the bus and in many ways which I hadn't. The only positive is that it gives viewers the chance to report it and hopefully help rectify it. I was shocked to see a very poorly kept, unhappy tiger...More

The admission was free. The reindeers had no food or water. The bear was very sad he rocked back and forth the then started scraping a hole. He then went back to his rocking totally depressed in his small enclosure. The tiger looked old and...More

This place really is very poor and pointless. We first visited last year on a day trip over from Vila Real de Santo António on the ferry and were surprised to see that it was free entry. We visited Ayamonte again this year as part...More

In May the "zoo" wasn't open so didn't get to look around. However in September it was open so we strolled around, what a shock, a single tiger in a lifeless barren enclosure, brown bears in a similar environment, some baboons who at least had...More

Ayamonte is without doubt one of the most charming places in Spain you could ever wish to visit. A real jewel and somewhere where we would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Andalusia. Really confused though as to why the locals continue to persist in allowing...More

This is a free Zoo in the middle of Ayamonte. There were 2 bears, a tiger, monkeys and a few other animals. You can walk around it in about 20 minutes or so. They are not the best of enclosures for the animals.

Such a small zoo cannot create any environment suitable for animals. The brown bear spends his day swaying back and forth. Horrible to see animals in such distress.

It's so shameful to see animals clearly in distress and uncared for. The enclosures are too small and there is nothing for the bigger animals to do. I witnessed a brown bear in severe distress. This zoo must be closed and the animals relocated. It...More
